“I owe myself the success I’m capable of, and I will not sell myself short. It is because of my potential that success is my responsibility, and I will not run from that responsibility.”
Jaxn, Derrick (2017) I’ve Come Too Far; 31 Daily Affirmations to Fuel Your Ambition
While reading some of my daily affirmations, I came across this message about success that resonated with my spirit. Success for many people is defined by their material accomplishments or the things they have to show for their endeavors. Some people fail to see themselves as successful because they don’t have a lot of money or own cars and houses. While I personally have not bought into the notion that material things determine success, I do believe that each of us have an individual responsibility to define what success means to us. Once a person is able to define success they are responsible for pursuing their dreams and fulfilling their life purposes.
To be successful you must have a strong desire to overcome whatever obstacles may get in your way. You have to understand that life does not give you any handouts. Making excuses is useless. You will have to learn how to rely on your own strengths and be willing to put in the necessary work to make things happen. More importantly you must accept that you may have to walk your journey alone. To be successful you must be resilient and willing to endure hard times like a soldier. Your success lies in your hands.
