“The best things in life are often waiting for you at the exit ramp of your comfort zone.“ ~Karen Salmansohn
The comfort zone is one of the most difficult areas to disengage from. A person can live there so long that when the time comes to change or upgrade they’ll find themselves stuck and unable to move. Many people fail to reach their full potential because they can’t move out of their comfort zone.
There is nothing wrong with wanting to be comfortable. The problem begins when you become unmotivated to do anything that makes you uncomfortable. The comfort zone is not designed to push you. There are no challenges there. Dreams die there for lack of drive and the will to do. Fear will keep you imprisoned there if you allow it to.
In order to be successful, you must get up and get out of your place of comfort. Your desire to reach your destiny must be greater than your need to be comfortable. When you are uncomfortable things will start to happen. You’ll become more creative in your thoughts. You’ll discover new things about yourself, both strengths and weaknesses. Your discomfort will motivate you to find ways to make things happen, because your ultimate goal will be to find comfort again.
Are your dreams worth sacrificing for the sake of comfort?
“The comfort zone is the great enemy to creativity; moving beyond it necessitates intuition, which in turn configures new perspectives and conquers fears”. ~Dan Stevens
“If you put yourself in a position where you have to stretch outside your comfort zone, then you are forced to expand your consciousness”. ~Les Brown
“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream”. ~Les Brown
loved this! I’m starting a new job this week and I’m kind of nervous but I know all I have to do is step a little out of my comfort zone and I’ll be fine! Great post!
Love this. I sometimes do let fear take over and I needed to see this .
What a great post! I have trouble on occasion stepping out of my comfort zone but I find it really helps to have people to reassure and give us the confidence we need to take the first steps to achieving our goals.
Yes! Do it scared if you have to. Always better than not doing it at all.
Hello, great post! A lot of people say they’d love to be out of their comfort zone, but it’s a lie they tell themselves – life often forces us to step outside of our confront zone… it even thrusts us out, making us deal with new realities.
So very true. I’ve been thrust out a few times and neither were fun. But it all worked out for my good. Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts.
