“Consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do”. ~Pope John XXIII
Dream Killers
Beware of these two dream killers–negative people and negative minds. When it’s in your power to do so, avoid them like the plague. They will drain you of all your energy and leave you hopeless if you allow them to. Sometimes they wear the faces of family and friends.
Recognize them for who they are. Understand that everyone may not see your dream because they’re not looking at it through your eyes. Most importantly, remember that within you lies the power to make all of your dreams come true. However, it is up to you to tap into that power.
Negative People
Don’t share your dreams with negative people. They will always find something uninspiring to feed into your spirit to discourage you. They will tell you that your dream is too big because they’re too afraid to chase their own. Avoid them at all cost.
- Negative people will tell you that your dreams are too big. Don’t believe them.
- Don’t allow negative people to convince you that you’re not capable of accomplishing your dreams.
- Negative people will discourage you. Don’t let them.
Negative Minds
A negative mindset will always be a hindrance to a dreamer. It will cause you to lose sight of your goals and leave you focused on the insignificant things. It will cause you to stress over meaningless moments and blind you to the positive accomplishments you’ve already made.
- Think Positive
- Focus on things that encourage your spirit.
- Cancel negative thoughts with positive affirmations.
“We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort”. ~Jesse Owens
“Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe”. ~Gail Devers
