You just couldn’t leave well enough alone.
You saw me living good working hard to live my best life.
But none of that was important to you.
You came along spinning tales that were the sweetest temptations.
And I fell for it–hook, line and sinker.
You captured me.
But instead of peace you brought me chaos.
Turned my world upside down with your bipolar ways
–one day up one day down.
I had to get off that roller coaster ride.
The queasiness from the hills and bumps was too much for me to bear.
I regurgitated all your lies.
Left with an empty stomach, never to be filled with your b.s. again.
They say some things once experienced a person will never retry.
But not me.
I’ve been down this road before.
Eager to know love like I’ve only heard about.
I thought that you would be the one.
Nevertheless, I’m taking back my peace.
Snatching back my sanity and letting go of the guilty thoughts.
Shift happens.
I’m not mad at all.
I have my peace once again.
You live and you learn.
Love this poem. Your way with words should inspire others to take back their peace.
Thank you!
Great piece and it is important to reclaim your peace of mind, spirit and body from people who try to steal it.
Yes! I agree. You must take it back.
Love this! I’m a hopeless romantic so, I’m always getting caught up in situations just like this. It can definitely take a toll on you but, I’ve learned to set boundaries about the way I will and won’t be treated; I took back my peace.
