You had me but you lost me.
You had my eye.
My tongue was filled with compliments reserved only for you.
I showered you with attention–gave you the best of me.
But it still wasn’t enough.
You sought more from the peanut factory.
And they gave it but it wasn’t the same.
You discovered those nuts were not all they were cracked up to be.
There was no substance, it was just a facade you see.
If you had all the attention in the world it still couldn’t compare to me.
The value of my love was much more you see.
Now you have none of me.
But you had the heart of me.
I held nothing back and I gave it freely.
But in the end it still cost me.
Now I’m in recovery.
Got you begging desperately.
Cause now you see it clearly.
You lost a real queen.
This piece resonates with me. I’ve been betrayed and used by so many people in my life and I always blamed myself for the loss. But your poetry opened up my eyes to see differently. Thank you for this 🙂
You are the queen dear and should be treated as such. And that means by everybody. When you learn to see your queen status it will change what you are willing to accept from people. I too had to learn this lesson first. 🤗🤗
Beautifully written! Love it! Look forward to more shares 😀💛🤗
